UN Human Rights Chief opened new office in Seoul

The UN Human Rights Office has opened in Seoul on the 23rd. The Seoul Offices focus lies on the monitoring and the documentation of human rights infringements committed in the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK).

The new OHCHR Office in Seoul – positioned at the hub for information, analysis and networking on DPRK – promises to take the response of the United Nations human rights system to a new level, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raad Al Hussein said in the opening ceremony. 

The Seoul office will also provide outreach to civil society and the larger public to share information and messages about human rights in the DPRK.
