The daughter of a senior official in Pyongyang recently fled to South Korea, the Donga Ilbo reported.
The president of NK Refugees Human Rights Association of Korea, Kim Yong Hwa, revealed that the daughters father is the manager of the Peoples Safety Ministry in charge of the Pyongyang area. The girl was studying abroad in Beijing, China, and as she watched South Korean TV programs, she began admiring South Korean life. So, she directly called the NK Refugees Human Rights Association of Koreas Seoul office and asked for help to flee to South Korea. Kim Yong Hwa helped her escape from China and handed her over to the South Korean authorities in a third country.
