Many North Koreans lack access to working water supplies a report released on Monday has found. UNICEF's report, compiled with help from the regime's Ministry of City Management and Central Statistics Bureau, found energy shortages and decrepit facilities have led to many North Koreans using wells and springs, etc., as their main source of water.
The report found that piped systems in Pyongwon County in South Pyongan Province accounted for just 4.1 percent of the total of water supply facilities. Piped Systems amounted to a meager 2.1 percent of the total of water supply facilities in Sinpyong County, North Hwanghae Province.
