CSIS Commission on the Korean Peninsula: Recommendations for the U.S.-Korea Alliance
In late 2020, CSIS established a bi-partisan Commission to assess and make recommendations for the U.S.-Korea alliance. The commission was led by John Hamre and Joseph Nye with a group of senior experts and former U.S. officials. Please join us for a presentation of the Commission's findings as well as a discussion of the "2+2," the Quad summit, and U.S.-China meetings in Alaska.
The CSIS Commission on the Korean Peninsula's final report roll-out is timed strategically, as it aligns with Secretary Blinken and Secretary Austins return from their 2+2 meetings in Japan and South Korea.
Dr. Victor Cha, the project director, will provide strategic context of the report while Commission members will give interventions discussing the policy recommendations.
This event is made possible by general support to the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
